Holmes Architects are a RIBA Chartered Practice specialising in high-quality residential design.  We provide architectural services in Quenington from our Lechlade architecture studio including new builds, extensions, conversions, listed buildings, and Passivhaus (Passive House) design.  The practice is managed by Matthew Holmes who worked as an architect at Design Storey Architects, and at Hudson Architecture Studio where he designed several high-quality homes.  Matthew is also a certified designer in a low energy design standard known as Passive House, which allows us to apply many of its principles to conventional homes.

The north side of Quenington is located within the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), and conservation areas cover most areas of the village including the neighbouring settlements of Coln St Aldwyns and Hatherop.  The Cotswold District Council's Local Plan 2011-2031 also indicates the Coln valley area between Fairford and Quenington as a special landscape area where developments will only be permitted if they do not have a detrimental impact upon the special character and landscape qualities of the area.  We would typically advise seeking pre-application advice from the council on any schemes that may be contentious around the AONB and the conservation areas.
