Holmes Architects, Worcester
Holmes Architects provides architectural design services in Worcestershire, centred around the Worcester studio. The management of the firm is overseen by Matthew Holmes, who previously worked as an architect at Hudson Architecture Studio and Design Storey Architects in Oxford.
Before venturing into the Oxford architectural scene, Matthew gained experience as an architectural assistant at DJD Architects in Worcester. During this time, he contributed to the transformation of a grade II listed former Victorian orphanage into student lodgings. He also worked on a residence designed under the former NPPF (National Planning Policy Framework) Paragraph 79 clause, now known as Paragraph 84e, which allows for planning permission in remote locations if the design meets exceptional standards.
Matthew's portfolio includes the construction of 16-bed accommodation for a premiership rugby club's youth team. He has delved into innovative construction methods such as woodcrete and has executed numerous luxury home extensions in and around Oxfordshire.
In addition to his status as a chartered architect, Matthew holds the title of a Certified Passivhaus Designer from the Passive House Institute in Germany. Passive House stands as a benchmark for energy-efficient building standards. At Holmes Architects, we guarantee that each of our projects for extensions, conversions, and new build homes will be design to achieve excellent thermal performance and comfort, surpassing building regulations.
